Quick answer
The short version, before the detail.
PROS AI UK sends boiler and heating job requests from London homeowners to local heating engineers by text. You pay for each lead you receive, there is no subscription and no minimum, and your first lead is free. This page explains what a lead is, what it costs, when you pay, what happens when a lead is bad, what PROS AI asks about Gas Safe registration, and how to sign up.
How does PROS AI work for heating and boiler engineers?
A homeowner in London describes the job: a boiler that will not fire, an annual service, a new combi, a power flush, a radiator that stays cold, a hot water cylinder. PROS AI passes that request by text to at most three local engineers. If you are one of them, the text arrives on your phone, you get in touch with the homeowner, and you quote and win the work in your own way.
A request goes to a maximum of three engineers. Sometimes it goes to two, sometimes to one. How many share it sets what each of you pays.
What counts as a lead?
A lead is one homeowner request for heating or boiler work, passed by text to at most three local engineers. It is not a click on a profile, a page view, or a message from someone browsing. You are charged for the request you received, and only for that.
The homeowner may hear from up to three of you, so a quick call back counts.
Do you need Gas Safe registration?
Gas work needs Gas Safe registration, and PROS AI asks for your registration number. Only a Gas Safe registered engineer may legally work on gas appliances in a home.
Homeowners are told to ask for your ID card and to check the licence number on the register, by text to 85080 or on the freephone line, so keep the card current and the work categories on the back up to date.
What does a boiler or heating lead cost in London?
Every job type has a base price. What you pay depends on how many engineers the request was sent to:
- Three engineers share the request: each pays the base price.
- Two share it: each pays 1.4 times the base price.
- You are the only engineer on it: you pay 2 times the base price.
Heating lead prices run from £16 to £50 depending on the job, and boiler installation sits at the top, at £50. For example, a job type with a £20 base price costs £20 when three of you share it, £28 when two share it, and £40 when it is yours alone. The exclusive price is double the shared price, and nobody else from PROS AI is quoting for that job.
PROS AI UK LTD is not VAT registered today, so no VAT is added to lead fees.
Is the first lead really free?
Yes. A new tradesperson's first lead is free. After that you pay per lead. There is no subscription, no monthly fee and no minimum spend, so in a month with no leads you pay nothing.
When do you pay for a lead?
Nothing is billable until five working days after the lead arrives. Lead fees are then charged to the card on your account on the 15th and on the last day of each month. A lead that arrives in the few days before a billing date is not on that bill; it is billed on the next one. You add a card once and do not top up a balance.
What happens if a lead is bad?
Some requests are not genuine: a wrong number, a homeowner who did not ask for an engineer, a request that is not a real job. A lead like that can be disputed in the portal and it is reviewed. Raise the dispute as soon as you see the problem rather than waiting for the bill.
Who is PROS AI for, and who is it not for?
It suits a Gas Safe registered engineer or a small heating firm working in London who wants to pay only when a homeowner has asked for the work, who can get to a breakdown the same day, and who would rather have no monthly fee than a directory listing to maintain.
It does not suit everyone. PROS AI does not promise a number of leads per month, so if you need a set number of installations each month to plan around, no pay-per-lead service can give you that and PROS AI does not claim to. It only serves London, so if you work elsewhere it is not for you. If you are not Gas Safe registered you cannot take gas work. And if you cannot respond the same day, the shared model works against you.
How do you sign up?
- Go to provider.pros-ai.co.uk on your phone and enter your details: name, mobile number, trade and the areas you cover.
- Add a debit or credit card. Later you find it in the portal under Profile settings, then Manage payments.
- Confirm the code sent to you by text, and your account is live.
Have your Gas Safe registration number ready, because PROS AI asks for it. Your first lead is free.
